"I can't help it if I've got an attitude!"

February 18, 2012

For those who've ever been told you've got a problem with your attitude, read this email I got today. It might help you.

BROKEN HEARTED GIRL: Hey Terra, my bf used to constantly warn me that if I didn't change my attitude he would break up with me. Being the type of person I am, I just disregarded it and thought that he would always be there for me. Well, obviously I was wrong because he just broke up with me! He says he still wants us to be close friends, but I don't think I can take that because I still want to be with him. And what if he gets another girlfriend?! I'm going to be overly depressed like I am right now. So what do I do??

TERRA (aka Annie): Hi Broken Hearted Girl. What do you think he meant when he talked about your "attitude"?

BROKEN HEARTED GIRL: I really dont know. But everyone says that you can tell when I'm on my period because I am literally a "bitch" to everyone. More »

“Does he still think of me a friend material?”

Hey Terra,

I'm totally in love with this new guy I'm dating, and I don't know, but I just want to be with him all the time! He brings out a side of me that I love, and, since we were friends before we started dating, I can really be myself with him. The thing is, I'm worried that he thinks of me still as friend material even though he asked me out. I don't know if I'm just paranoid or what, but I guess I feel a little insecure about myself, which makes me question his feelings. What do you think? Am I overreacting?

Worried and In Love

“To date or not to date?”

Hey Terra,

4 GREAT guys at my school like me, but there's a catch. I'm 11 years old! So why in the world would I be going out with a boy? By the way, I'm not talking about serious going out, I'm talking about like, holding hands, saying you are "going out" and maybe, MAYBE hugging each other. On the other hand, it might be fun. No kissing, no anything serious, just "going out." So let's say I did accept one of their offers? I should also say that my mom is WAY TO strict. I casually asked her once when she thinks I could "go out" in that way of just liking each other. She says I should be 14! To me...
